Pincode or PIN or Postal Index Number is an identification number used by India Post to physically locate nearest post office of an address. Its a 6 digit number which was introduced on 25th Independence Day.

The first two digits of a pincode represents the region of the post office. For example, pincodes starts with the range 14 to 16 represents Punjab. List of all regions are in the Postal Circle / Region section.
